“I remember opening the box and seeing how well set out it was. What first caught my eye was the macrame rainbow and I knew I’d be hanging that on our wall forever. Our 4 year old daughter also received a sibling pack with a book and a stuffed llama in it. Some grief books for kids are worded strangely and we found that other books didn’t talk so much about siblings, it was more about a grandparent. The sibling above book was beautifully written and made it easier for us to explain what had happened to her little sister. She also loves her llama and tells people that it’s Lucies llama."

“At the time of my admission, a bereavement midwife gave me a Somewhere over the Rainbow box. I was deeply moved by its contents. However, it was not till later that I truly understood its significance. The box allowed us to make memories, which we otherwise would not have thought to do. In these desperate moments, after a child is born sleeping, you cannot think nor make big decisions. The box was a guiding force to help us navigate this. The candle gifted to us, we lit each night after saying our goodbyes. As a grieving parent, this makes me feel as though I am tucking him in each night, and a little way to honour him. "

“We lost our gorgeous boy Beau in November 2023 and I didn’t receive a care box in hospital but once I was home and consoling in a friend Emma she asked if I had received one. When I told her no she said she would see what she could do. A matter of a few hours later and I had Collette contact me who was the most compassionate person I had come across since my loss. She even insisted on bringing a care box out to me at Hagley to my home and sat with me for an hour just talking and letting me grieve. I am forever grateful for not only the wonderful keepsakes in the box but more so for Collette’s time, care and support she gave in a really challenging time for us.”
